Asus to Enter the Core i7 Gaming PC Realm

Asus announced a new gaming computer today: the rolls-off-your-tongue ROG CG6190. With the new Intel Core i7 processor and X58 chipset, this beast will be capable of holding up to 12 GB of DDR3 RAM, NVIDIA 3-way SLI, and ATI CrossFireX graphics, and up to 20% factory overclocking.

But that’s not what really makes this computer so tantalizingly titillating.

The biometric fingerprint scanner is certainly…different for a desktop PC, and my personal experience with these in laptops has been less than stellar. But hey, to each his own.

The dual KILOWATT power system and custom liquid cooling is certainly something to get excited about. That’s a ton of power to be had, and liquid cooling will be necessary if you opt for the factory overclock. Pricing isn’t yet available, but you can bet it’s in the “used car or new Chevy Aveo” range.

We’ve reviewed a few gaming PCs and laptops, and our deal engineers have been scouring the web for pre-Black Friday and Black Friday proper deals that just may include a few gaming-oriented sales. Check them out, and read more of our fine copy.
