Leaked Image Shows Intel 6-Core Xeon Processor (Westmere)

Coming from the land of computing dreams, the Westmere processor (codename for the Xeon W5590 processor from Intel) has seemed like nothing more than a dream, until now. An image identifies the 6-core chip and gives us all hope that it really will make its H1 2010 release date.
The Xeon W5590 will have six 2.4GHz cores that use hyperthreading to run two program threads on each core, effectively making this a 12-core chip. Pretty darn impressive, and ridiculously enticing too. It will also have 12MB of Level 3 cache shared between the cores and 256KB of Level 2 cache for each individual core.
